Company Overview

For over two decades, Washington Landmark Construction LLC (WLC) has been at the forefront of construction and historic renovation in the DC Metro area. Founded with a passion for preserving the unique charm of historic properties, we have developed a reputation for meticulous work that respects tradition while embracing modern needs. Our expertise in adaptive reuse allows us to create multi-unit residences that maintain their original character while offering contemporary living at its finest.

Washington Landmark Construction, LLC, is one of the region’s premier builders of single-family homes and is particularly known for its award-winning renovation and rehabilitation of historic buildings in Montgomery County, MD.

WLC’s work on the Gymnasium at National Park Seminary (NPS) began with the acquisition of a derelict 20,000 sf building within the National Park Seminary Historic District in Silver Spring.   Working with the existing community HOA and guided by the conditions set by Maryland Historic Trust, WLC transformed the building to its previous splendor and converted it into 12 residential condominiums.   The project was not only awarded a significant level of Maryland historic tax credits but also received the 2015 Montgomery County Award for Historic Preservation and a 2017 Montgomery County Design Award.

WLC’s latest project consisted of the restoration and rehabilitation of the three-building Power Plant at NPS complex. Fourteen residential units, including underground parking were created into 40,000 sf space, with a federal mandate driven by the tax incentives to maintain ownership of the lower garage and storage level through 2025.  The project was conducted with the oversight and approval of MHT.

Our current project, the Warner Circle Mansion, is one of the most historically significant homes in the city of Kensington. The original home of Brainard Warner, founder of the Town of Kensington, MD, the house served as his summer home. Our goal with this restoration project is to reimagining these stately structures. The project will both rehabilitate a treasured community asset into multi-family housing while also ensuring its care and upkeep into a new era. Warner Circle Park, which surrounds the project, will be preserved for continued public use, with elements of the new condominium development (a stone terrace, fitness center, and lobby) opened to community use up.
