He is presently an adjunct professor at Georgetown University\u2019s School of Continuing Studies where he brings his expertise in all phases of real estate development acquired from close to 30-years\u2019 experience in the region\u2019s construction and development industry.<\/span><\/p>\nIn 2017, WLC won the prestigious Montgomery County Planning Department Design Excellence Award for its innovative design and construction of the dilapidated 100-year-old Grecian-styled gymnasium at the National Park Seminary (NPS) in Silver Spring, Maryland. Prior to this award, the now 12-unit state-of-the-art condominium complex received the county\u2019s 2015 Historic Preservation Award for its modernizing design approach, which executed successfully the adaptation of the Grecian architectural design to accommodate modern conveniences. Building on this successful endeavor, WLC undertook a similar project to convert the Power Plant at NPS, which consists of three historically designated buildings \u2013 the Power Plant, Practice House and Fire House \u2013 into 14 distinctive condominiums.<\/span><\/p>\nKarl began his real estate career as a superintendent for Trammell Crow Company, the largest commercial real estate developer in the United States and became one of its youngest project managers before founding Washington Landmark in 1992.
